Rising Treetops, formerly Camp Oakhurst, opened its doors in 1906, and since then has been serving the community loyally. The Camp is operated by the New York Service for the Handicapped, and is open to not only for children, but teens and adults that have physical and developmental disabilities. Rising Treetops is a fully accessible camp for about 800 campers each summer. The 15 open acres are unbarred, allowing for easy wheel chair access throughout. While at a camp or respite session at Rising Treetops, clients enjoy daily activities including arts & crafts, music, drama, iPad-based learning, swimming, sports, cooking and nature studies.
