The Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park offers camping from April through October with 69 campsites available. They offer wilderness and primitive camping with only a few amenities, so if you want to truly "rough-it," this is the perfect place for you! The campground has bathrooms available within walking distance from the site, a fire ring and a picnic table at each site, but no electric hook-ups. Come out to see what it's truly like to camp in the wilderness right outside of Somerset County NJ!
In addition to camping, the Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park has dozens of activities available to campers. Bring your boat or canoe and spend the day on the Delaware River! Explore the waters and surrounding woods for a day of fun and excitement! You can also spend the day fishing in the river and canal. Each offers a wide variety of fish, from catfish to trout, but all fishers must follow the NJ Fishing Laws. Families will also love exploring the natural area of The Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park.
The park is home to two unique forest types, the Sycamor River Birch type and the Elm-Silver Maple type, which gives explorers a unique aspect of New Jersey's wildlife. The forests are also home to many different birds and mammals that nature lovers will be fascinated by!
