The Whippany Railroad Museum's goal is to preserve New Jersey's railroad history. Throughout the grounds of the museum they feature various different pieces of railroad equipment, restore them and put them on display for visitors young and old to see and appreciate. Inside the museum they feature an interactive model train for children to play with. They feature hundreds of antique train memorabilia such as models, paperwork, photographs and more!
Every weekend during the summer season families can take part in the Excursion Train Ride! Children can choose whichever vintage caboose catches their eye and spend the day exploring the train and viewing the beautiful New Jersey scenery. Children will not only learn about the rich history of New Jersey's railway system, they will be fascinated by the pieces of history and fully restored trains!
