Double the amount, double the fun! Twin Lighthouses located in Highlands, New Jersey is the perfect amount of historical entertainment and fun. Originally built in 1828, Twin Lights became the second light station to help navigate ships in the New York Harbor area. With two beacons standing at a whopping 320 feet tall, this was said to "Spark a scientific revolution in America."
Later in 1893, the Twin Lighthouses was the first official location to publicly recite the Pledge of Allegiance. Guided tours for groups or even just a day trip are still given all the time. Today, it acts as an awesome historical site in NJ that is free and open to the public. For hours please call ahead before planning a visit.
