Educational Outdoor Fun in Somerset County
The Environmental Education Center at Lord Stirling Park is located in the western portion of the Great Swamp. There are 9.5 miles of trails open to the public for passive recreational use such as hiking, bird watching, walking, running, or cross country skiing.
The 18,000 square foot building offers classrooms, room rentals, art exhibits, a Discovery Room, and The Great Swamp Experience, an educational exhibit featuring interactive displays telling the story of the Great Swamp from prehistoric times to the present. Naturalist programs and special events are offered year-round for all ages.
