Founded back in 1898 by a group of dedicated county residents with the mission to "discover, procure, preserve and perpetuate whatever relates to the history of Monmouth County." The Monmouth County Historical Association has been doing just that ever since.
Over time the Monmouth County Historical Association became a multi-faceted organization made up of their research library and archives, a museum, and five historic homes in the area along with their lectures and special events.
Providing a number of opportunities for people of all ages like lectures and special events for anyone interested in Monmouth Counties' rich and interesting history and cultural heritage.
With programs for students and field trip options like one where you learn about 18th century life inside of one of four pre-revolutionary historic house museums, your students will come face to face with the history of Monmouth County. And with events, all year round you can always find something interesting to learn when you visit.
