With over 30 acres The Sayen House and Gardens is a beautiful municipal park and botanical garden in Mercer County. Started in 1912 by Fredrick Sayen and his wife they Sayens built a bungalow home on the property and surrounded it with gorgeous plants and flowers that they found during their travels around the world.
Becoming a municipal property in 1988 the park was made public in 1991. Since then the township has expanded and improved the park. Today the garden has more than a thousand azaleas, five hundred rhododendrons and more than 250,000 flowering bulbs that they display in the springtime. With their ponds, gazebos, and bridges as well as a ton of walking trails, this park is perfect for a relaxing day filled with fragrant flowers that is perfect for any nature lover.
Each Mothers Day, They Sayen House and Gardens holds their annual Azalea Festival and is open to the public from 10 am to 4 pm.
