Built-in 1786 by Uriah Van Riper for his bride Maria, this Dutch Colonial house provides an interesting walk back in time. This virtual tour will take you through the house showing you a time capsule-like home so you can truly feel what it was like to live in the late 1700s.
The Van Riper family resided in this home from the time it was built until 1928 and now it holds a number of artifacts and antiques. As you take the virtual tour you will see furnishings on the first floor from the 18th and early 19th century. This museum now represents the agricultural society in Wayne that has been operating for over 200 years.
It is hard to picture a place that has so much history but this tour will paint you a perfect picture while educating you on the life and times of the family who resided in this home for so long.
