Dogs allowed all year round! Dogs are permitted at Island State Beach Park in all areas except the lifeguarded swimming area and the Spizzle Creek Bird Blind Trail. All dogs must be kept on a leash no longer than 6 feet. This is a great place to bring your dogs in the summer months as well as the off-season!

The western shore of Sandy Hook is dog-friendly! Leashed dogs are permitted on the Inlet side of the park at all times. There are no park amenities such as life guards or food places available on this side of the park, but your dogs will get to play freely without restrictions. Dogs are not allowed on the eastern shore of the recreation area.
